End of term 1 at VFS

Term 1 of classes at Vancouver Film School has finally ended. So far, I feel that I really learned a lot more here as compared to when I was in NTU. I'm grateful to my professors at NTU to help me with my projects but now that I think about it, the school wasn't really focused on building our skills and it was more of having some skill building just to fulfill their quota of teaching. (To me at least.)

I'm really glad that I came to Vancouver Film School. It feels like the environment, in general, is very supportive. Even though I have some basic background in digital painting and drawing, the classes helped me to polish up my skills and made me realise what I'm lacking in as well. As term 2 approaches, I'm sure my skills would improve in this art journey of mine.  Here are some images from term 1. In one of my classes, we had to design a vehicle and a prop from designated IPs. This was one of my major projects for term 1. In design fundamentals, we went through perspective, isometric and orthographic drawings. As for my digital painting class, it was more on how to render in Photoshop.

We worked in groups and my group decided to do Sugar Rush from Wreck-It-Ralph  as our theme for our vehicle design

First time doing orthographic and isometric drawings, it was painful to have it accurate but it was really fun
